The Tox Banana Shot (毒バナナショット)is a bazooka-propelled, poisoned Banana Peel from Mario Kart Arcade GP and its sequel, Mario Kart Arcade GP 2. This rotten fruit Item can be launched from a huge cannon, spinning out enemies and delivering a toxic effect.

Unlike its less-deadly counterpart, the Tox Banana Shot has to be unlocked as a Prize Item.

Usage[]

Offense[]

Banana Shot (5)

Donkey Kong with a toxic Banana launcher.

After a Tox Banana Shot has been picked up from an Item Box, the driver arms her/himself with a huge metal rocket launcher... only this one is loaded with a Banana that's turning purple from toxins. After a few moments of driving behind an enemy vehicle, the computer locks onto them, and pressing the Item send the homing Banana on its way. Once it hits the opponent, they get spun out like they've just slipped on a regular Banana, but the toxins also make their steering wheel go haywire for several moments.

Protection[]

The time between when the Item is launched and when it makes contact is a very small window of time, very quick reflexes will be needed to activate a Shield or get a Star. Since you can't really control when you get these, however, it's almost hopeless to block against these (dodging the Tox Banana Shot is impossible once it is locked on.)

Trivia![]

  • Actually, the Tox Banana Shot is a variant of the Banana Shot, a non-poisonous/purple form of the weapon.
    • And of course, both of these are variants of the original Banana Item.
  • This Banana that's shot from a missile launcher (and has a homing ability) sort of resembles the U.S. FGM-148 Javelin, a military anti-tank missile that uses infrared guidance.
