Toadette was first introduced in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and is Toad's partner. She is also available as a player in Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Like Toad, her Special Item in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the Golden Mushroom. She is very light and can be pushed aside easily, but her karts and bikes are exceptionally fast and have good handling. In Mario Kart Wii, she provides a large off-road bonus as well. Toadette is featured as a lightweight character in all three games and can be unlocked by the following conditions: In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: Win the 100cc Special Cup. In Mario Kart Wii: Play Time Trial on all 32 courses at least once. In Mario Kart 8: Complete a random Grand Prix. Both Toadette and Toad are the first unlockable characters in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, before King Boo and Petey Piranha. Toadette was never a default playable character until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Her signature kart is Teddy Buggy according to a trailer.
Toadette is a female Toad, so she is adorned in pink. She has brown shoes, looking the same as Toad's, but her clothing is different. She wears a short, pink dress with a white outline, and her vest is red with a gold trim. Toad is jealous of that vest, cause his favorite color is red, obviously. The mushroom on her head is also pink with large white dots, and she has pink mushroom hair that goes down her back. She has the same memorable, happy face as Toad. Nothing can keep her from smiling, not even being hit by a Spiny Shell or falling of down a bottomless hole.

Unlike the previous Mario Kart games, and like Waluigi, Toadette didn't appear in Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS as a playable character however she was going to before being scrapped, and she didn't make a cameo, unlike Waluigi where he made a cameo in DS Waluigi Pinball.
- Toadette is the first character to debut in the Mario series in a Mario Kart game, the second and third being Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach respectively. Coincidentally, they are all females.
