Similar to Toadette, Toad is light and therefore quick of the mark. Over long distances, Toad is a driver that doesn't leave mushroom for mistakes but on short courses his excellent acceleration has shattered many lap records. To unlock him in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, win the 100cc Special Cup.

• Toad is voiced by Jen Taylor in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, who also voices Peach, Daisy, and Toadette. In Mario Kart Wii he is voiced by Samantha Kelly, who also voices Peach, Baby Peach, and Toadette.
• Toad is the only character, that is unlockable in one game,(Mario Kart Double Dash) and Defalt in the other games in the Mario Kart series.
