|Thwomp Desert in Mario Kart Wii|
|First appearance||Mario Kart Wii (2008)|
|Total appearances||Mario Kart Wii|
Thwomp Desert is a battle stage in Mario Kart Wii. It is a round desert valley level with a giant Thwomp in the middle, that, like in the Bowser's Castles, will periodically come down. Instead of ground, beneath the Thwomp is a hole; all the sand flows into it, so don't just stop driving cause you'll get sucked into the hole. When the Thwomp comes down, the sand flows away from the Thwomp in waves which you can do tricks on. Lining the stage are cacti that can damage you. There is also regular sized Thowmps buried in the sand. You can do tricks over them. The music in this stage is very well-received by video game music critics and is praised as "what you get when you mix Irish and Egyptian music".
