The Acceleration tier glitch is a glitch in Mario Kart 7 that causes the acceleration stat to affect players incorrectly if the stat is above 4.75 points.
Explaination
In Mario Kart 7, the acceleration stat is determined by the value shown on the acceleration stat bar. If three sections are blue, then the acceleration stat value is 3 points. If three and a half sections are blue, the value is instead 3.5 points.
The acceleration stat determines acceleration tier the player is in is determined by the value shown on the acceleration stat bar. If the stat value is 2.75-3.5 points, the player is in the 3rd acceleration tier. If it is within 3.75-4.5 points, the player is within the 4th tier.
By the above logic, tiers are supposed to be as in this chart.
Correct Acceleration Tiers | |
---|---|
Acceleration tier | Acceleration stat |
Tier 1 | 0.75-1.5 points |
Tier 2 | 1.75-2.5 points |
Tier 3 | 2.75-3.5 points |
Tier 4 | 3.75-4.5 points |
Tier 5 | 4.75-5.5 points |
However, there is an glitch with how Mario Kart 7 handles the acceleration stat that causes players with more than 4.75 points in the stat to accelerate faster than they are supposed to. This glitched increase in acceleration with the stat above 4.75 points is known as the acceleration glitch.
This is why the acceleration tiers in Mario Kart 7 are more like the chart below.
Glitched Acceleration Tiers | ||
---|---|---|
Acceleration tier | Acceleration stat | Acceleration speed |
Tier 1 | 0.75-1.5 points | Very slow |
Tier 2 | 1.75-2.5 points | Slow |
Tier 3 | 2.75-3.5 points | Medium |
Tier 4 | 3.75-4.5 points | Fast |
Tier 5 | 4.75 points | Very Fast |
Tier 5.25 | 5 points | Slightly faster than Tier 5 |
Tier 5.5 | 5.25 points | Slightly faster than Tier 5.25 |
Tier 5.75 | 5.5 points | Slightly faster than Tier 5.5 |
