The Gold Glider is an unlockable glider in Mario Kart 7 and in Mario Kart 8.

In both of the games, it offers no stats, meaning it gives no effect to the driver's performance. Its stats are identcial with the Super Glider, Wario Wing, Waddle Wing, Plane Glider, and Paper Glider.

History

Mario Kart 7

The Gold Glider made its first appearance in Mario Kart 7. It highly resembles the Super Glider, except that the Gold Glider has a golden color. To get it, one has to get 100 people connected on StreetPass, or get 10,000 coins.

Mario Kart 8

It returns in Mario Kart 8. Instead of being entirely gold, it is now black with a gold ring and a number eight on top. Like its predecessor, it is unlocked by collecting 10,000 coins, and it does not offer any stat boosts.
