The Giant Banana is an item in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. It's a special item that Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong can obtain in Double Dash. It's at least twenty times bigger than the ordinary Banana Peel. If a driver makes contact with the Giant Banana Peel, it will explode, and in its wake will be three normal banana peels following the victim who will be sent spinning out of control for a brief period of time. The Giant Banana is somewhat unique to special items in that it is one of the few items that works best when the character is in first place.
