The Egg Rider is Yoshi's special kart in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 and Mario Kart Arcade GP DX. As with earlier, similar looking Yoshi vehicles, the Egg Rider is modeled after a green-spotted Yoshi Egg.

Like most Lightweight karts, the stat bonuses alternate from Acceleration to Handling in between the arcade games. But Acceleration is traded in for skimpy Weight, so watch out for the Heavyweights.

Description[]

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2[]

The frame of the kart is highly rounded, with barely and vertexes or corners, smooth as fuck. The karts is painted white, and seven large green dots cover about 60% of it. Ventilation slits right underneath the driver's logo keep the Egg Rider cooled off. A red outline rims the edge of the kart, and the back half of it is very jagged, also lined in red. A white-bordered scarlet seat rests in front of the controls, with a color scheme mimicking Yoshi's shell color. Golden turbo boosts extend out the back, and all 4 tires are red and treaded with yellow "★" axels.

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX[]

Egg Rider (Mario Kart Arcade GP DX)

The newer version of the Egg Rider.

A small difference in style (also a little statistics diff, too...) differentiates the Mario Kart Arcade GP DX Egg Rider from the previous. The trim on the kart is now gilded instead of red. The exhaust pipes are now silver, and the tires have slightly more traction.

Statistics[]

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2[]

Top Speed isn't all that bad with the Egg Rider. With small karts, it usually is on the low end, but since it's not in this case, the Egg Rider's combo of speed and acceleration makes it a great choice.

Stat Name Stat Value
Acceleration ★★★★
Weight ★★
Top Speed ★★★

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX[]

For those of you who liked the acceleration of this kart, you're gonna miss it... Handling is now the bonus, which might be good for curvy tracks, but speed and acceleration hurt on straightaways/Items.

Stat Name Stat Value
Acceleration +0
Speed +0
Handling +1

Trivia![]

  • Mario Kart DS introduced the first of the egg-shaped karts, Egg 1. The Egg Rider seems to be heavily based on this vehicle, with only a few minor differences.
    • Side note: The Egg 1 also reappears in Mario Kart 7 as an Unlockable kart.
    • ANOTHER side note: An unused kart frame was going to appear alongside the Egg 1, the Egg 2.
  • All three of these vehicles are based on the Yoshi Egg Item from Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.
  • Like the Sweets Party and Mush Run, the Egg Rider was only named in Mario Kart Arcade GP DX. Karts in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 don't have names, which makes it really confusing.
